Counter Strike

Counter Strike is very popular multiplayer first-person shooter video game. The game first began on windows in 1999 and then the game was first released in Nov 2000. Game was originated on windows and is now available on Microsoft windows, OS X, Play Station 3, Linus, Xbox, Xbox 360.


It is objective based game. There are two opposing teams, one team is of terrorists and other team is counter terrorists. Player has to choose which side to be. Game involves rescuing or guarding hostages, escorting VIPs or abducting, securing locations to plant or defuse bombs. It all depends on you how you play. You will win rewards for your performance in terms of currency which you can use to buy more powerful weapons. If you kill enemies, you win cash bonuses but if you kill your team mates it results in penalty. Most important thing is if your character dies, the game is over, and you have to play another game. In this game you cannot get injured and then heal again to play, you are dead, and the game is over. You really need good skills to survive and thrive in this game.


Initially Counter Strike was released as modification for half-life a first-person shooter video game which was developed by Valves. The game was designed by Gooseman and Cliffe and before the rights to games intellectual property it was acquired by Valve Corporation. Then after Counter Strike, came Counter Strike: Condition Zero which was followed by original Counter Strike. Counter Strike: Condition Zero was developed by Turtle Rock Studios and it was released in 2004. After Counter Strike: Condition Zero, Counter Strike: Source was released by Valve which was remake of original Counter Strike. Then came Counter Strike: Global Offensive released by Valve in 2012.

Counter Strike had huge success in India and it is among one of the top most popular games played here.
